There are different groups that fight for civil human rights. These groups are dedicated to protect human rights and advocate for justice for all humans around the world especially minority groups and those who are unable to fight for themselves.
The Larkin and Lacey Frontera Fund is one of the numerous founding organizations for human, civil and immigrant rights. This organization supports groups campaigning against abuse of these rights. They also support civic participation and freedom of speech throughout Arizona.
Together Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin established Larkin and Lacey Frontera funds. This was inspired by their arrest by Maricopa County Sherriff Joe Arpaio.
They provided concrete evidence that grand jury proceedings required reporters’ notes on articles covering the Sherriff. Later Lacey and Larkin won a settlement of 3.75 million dollars after suing the county.
They decided to use this money and fund immigrant rights organizations throughout Arizona including “la linea fronteriza” along the border of Mexico. Larkin and Lacey Frontera Fund has funded DREAMer and DACA-led organizations such as Aliento, The ADAC, Trans Queer Pueblo and CNL.
