Human, Civil, and Migrant Rights Groups

There are different groups that fight for civil human rights. These groups are dedicated to protect human rights and advocate for justice for all humans around the world especially minority groups and those who are unable to fight for themselves.

The Larkin and Lacey Frontera Fund is one of the numerous founding organizations for human, civil and immigrant rights. This organization supports groups campaigning against abuse of these rights. They also support civic participation and freedom of speech throughout Arizona.

Together Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin established Larkin and Lacey Frontera funds. This was inspired by their arrest by Maricopa County Sherriff Joe Arpaio.

They provided concrete evidence that grand jury proceedings required reporters’ notes on articles covering the Sherriff. Later Lacey and Larkin won a settlement of 3.75 million dollars after suing the county.

They decided to use this money and fund immigrant rights organizations throughout Arizona including “la linea fronteriza” along the border of Mexico. Larkin and Lacey Frontera Fund has funded DREAMer and DACA-led organizations such as Aliento, The ADAC, Trans Queer Pueblo and CNL.

There are other several organizations that advocate for human, civil and migrant rights. Amongst them is The American Civil Liberties Union(ACLU) which works to protect all individual rights and freedoms guaranteed by the constitution of the USA.

Essential Pointers to Facilitate a Stress-Free Back-to-School Campaign

It’s that frantic time of the year for parents and students once again. Yes, schools are just about to open and parents are busy shopping for back-to-school items. Parents have to attend the orientation of their kids to their new colleges and finally, the parents are involved in assisting the students to pick out extracurricular activities. Here are useful tips and pointers to help ease the transition period for parents and their children. These insights are from the vice president of the Phoenix Financial Network, Kevin Gallegos.

It is imperative you draft a meticulous school supply list. Nowadays, most parents don’t bother making the at-times long journey to the school. Rather, they just get all the information about what supplies are required from the official website of the particular institution. Alternatively, reach out to your kids’ school and request to be mailed to a complete supply list.

With back to school preparations, nothing’s quite as essential as having a proper budget. A concise budget ensures you, as the parent, don’t overshoot your intended spending before you get everything. Remain disciplined make sure you stay within your set limits, always. Gallegos adds that it’s wise to hold off on the shopping until the very last-minute. There’s an excellent chance you’ll find a clearance sale somewhere and end up saving tons of cash.

The veteran education consultant, Ana Homayoun reminds parents that in addition to the materials outlined on the supply lists, you still need to buy other items. The latter is meant to facilitate easier learning for your kids in the classrooms. For instance, get the kid’s binders to help improve their organizational skills.

Your kids are going to need some warm clothes as well. Again, parents are recommended to wait until the clearance sales open to save money for other priorities.

Nimali Fernando comes in with yet another brilliant idea. Nimali, a pediatrician, suggests you buy a bento-type lunch box to help them carry home-made delicacies. Such lunchboxes are thought of a deterrent to kids overfeeding on junk foods often sold within the schools.

It is absolutely mandatory for parents attending the orientation events of their kids. These interactions go a long way in cementing a cordial relationship between parents and teachers. The meetings are an excellent opportunity for parents to change contacts with other parents as well. For more info about us: click here.

Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin in heir Fight for Human Rights

Earlier this year, a meeting was held in the United Nations delegate’s conference in Geneva, Switzerland. The conference’s aim was to mark the beginning of negotiation on immigrant’s issue.

For a long time migrants have been subjected to unfair treatment and subjection to all manner of ill-treatment due to lack nationality. Statistics reveal that majority of the countries in the world do not guarantee all the humanly rights.

Since the international law does not fully guarantee passage to individuals without the required paper work, there has been an introduction of new bills protecting immigrants.

Nevertheless, majority of the countries has not respected the implementation of the bill. As a result, private organizations have joined up to form civil human rights advocating organizations.

Among these organizations is Lacey and Larkin Frontera Fund, which is currently one of the leading migrants and human rights advocating groups. Apart from the Frontera Fund is CHILA, one of the largest human rights advocating organizations. Read more: Phoenix New Time and Village Voice Media | Wikipedia

The Coalition for Human Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles (CHILA)

This is one of the most sought-after human rights advocating organization in the U.S. The organization works on making sure that migrant are not subjected to abuse or any type of ill treatment. Under its protection, migrants are taken through the required protocol in advocating their legal human right.

Normally, humans are entitled to the right of being treated like a human, being an immigrant does not make an individual any less human. Additionally, CHILA provides education to immigrants on the legal process of attaining freedom and how to react if they are taken before a judge as shown below

Recommendation on Immigrant Cases

CHILA’s group of experts provides professional advice to individuals facing immigration cases. Below are several things an individual is supposed to know before meeting a judge.

  • They should be prepared to engage an immigration attorney
  • Since they are required to meet an attorney, CHILA insists than they should gather as much evidence as they can.
  • To show the seriousness of their issues, they are advised not to miss any hearing. Missing court appearance will work on the prosecutor’s advantage.

Although there might be enough evidence, majority of immigrants lack clarity and end up losing their cases to eloquent and persuasive attorneys. For this reason, it is necessary for an individual to employ the services of powerful attorney in their defense.

About Frontera Fund

Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin are the co-founders of Frontera Fund, Phoenix New Times, and Village Voice Media. The organizations were founded after Michael and Jim received a settlement from a case placed against them by Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

The settlement that amounted to $ 3.75 million enabled them to start their first human right advocating group, Frontera Fund.

The organization supports individuals seeking citizenship and advocates immigration and migration rights. Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin had spent almost their entire career asserting and defending civil human rights.

Further, many organizations such as Mexicano Frontera have enumerated their work and works with the Frontera organization to advocate for human rights.
